European Union gives another 500 mln. Euros to farmers in Europe

500 mln. Euro were granted to the sector of Agriculture. The decision was taken at extraordinary Council of Ministers of Agriculture in the European Union, announced the European Commission.
The funds will be disbursed immediately, said the commissioner Jyrki Katainen. Much of the funds will be directed to the dairy sector.
The aim is to overcome the falling prices of agricultural products and because of the Russian embargo on imports of food and agricultural products.
Extraordinary Council of Agriculture Ministers of the EU was accompanied by a mass protest of farmers in Brussels. Thousands of manufacturers, including Bulgarians and more than 1,000 tractors blocked the European institutions in the European capital.
Television reported that protesters were met by armed and trained security forcesTwo policemen were injured in the incidents.
