Deputy Minister Nikolova: Cross Border Cooperation Programme between Bulgaria and Macedonia launched an accelerated place
Well -structured based on the needs and experience, INTERREG program is a cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Macedonia will start very quickly after its approval by the European Commission on 5 August this year. That said Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Denitsa Nikolova at the opening of the first meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee of the program.
She noted that the Joint Monitoring Committee will play a key role in the new programming period, as it should provide a broad discussion of all measures taken by the managing authority and the national partner in implementation of the program. For this purpose, the composition of the new programming period is extended, said Denitsa Nikolova.
At today’s meeting, the Committee examined and approved the guidelines for applicants under the first call for proposals with a resource of over 7 mln. Euro.
Predict the invitation to be announced as early as September, said the Deputy Minister. Projects will be submitted to the three priority axes – environment, tourism and competitiveness, which have a total budget of 19.5 mln. Euros.
Denitsa Nikolova thanks to the good cooperation with Macedonia in the process of programming period (2014-2020) and the implementation of the current program, which is already. She informed that the utilization of funds under CBC Programme Bulgaria-Macedonia 2007-2013 is over 80%, the results are visible and contribute to the development of border regions.
