Bulgarian president- Rosen Plevneliev Prime Minister and Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova come in Plovdiv at the invitation of the mayor eng. Ivan Totev. They will officially open National outsourcing conference entitled “Outsourcing Destination Bulgaria”, organized for the second year in Plovdiv, “Industry Watch” on September 10th.
Guests of the conference are Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, Stephan Fricke, Managing Director and Head of Advisory Board of the German Outsourcing Association and representatives of over 100 companies from the IT and outsourcing industries. Enrolled participants are over 200 .

The conference will be held in the third panel, during which it will outsource actual data for the sector and will discuss topics such as attracting talent from outside the EU, opportunities that Plovdiv offers for companies in the IT sector, education and others. Different sessions will be attended by experts from central and local government, by industry organizations as well as representatives of companies with offices in Plovdiv. They will talk about the state and prospects for the sector, the city and the country in terms of their own experience.
The event is supported by the Bulgarian Investment Agency, Bulgarian Association outsourcing, ICT Cluster Plovdiv, Bulgarian Association of Software Companies and the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies.
IT and Outsourcing industry in Plovdiv:
Due to the deliberate policy of the authorities the city has established itself as the second largest destination in Bulgaria for investment in IT and business process outsourcing, after the capital. According to the latest data in Plovdiv`s IT sector works between 4000 and 4500 people. For the last three years their number has doubled. Creating jobs for young graduates is among the highest priorities of local governance. Forecasts indicate that the number of employees could rise to between 8 000 and 10 000 people in the upcoming few years.
Plovdiv becomes more attractive because recently launched new office projects and relatively low rental price than the capital- Sofia. The trend shows that in a few years the city will need more than 100,000 sq m of office space high class. In addition, the presence of more than half a million people in the region, highly developed education system with more than 40,000 students, multicultural and multilingual environment turned the city into an attractive investment destination for IT and outsourcing companies from Europe and North America.
