Centre to encourage collaboration in the field of agriculture between China and countries in Central and Eastern Europe will be opened in Sofia, Bulgaria.
It will be under tutorship of Bulgarian Ministry of agriculture and food. The decision was taken on today’s government meeting.
The creation of the center is based on Memorandum of Understanding between the agricultural ministries of Bulgaria and China, signed in October 2014.
This new structure aims to coordinate initiatives in the field of agriculture – joint ventures, promotion of trade in agricultural products, food and beverages.
The center will exchange experiences and will seek partners for cooperation and contacts between China and the 16 CEE countries, the press service of the Cabinet announced.
Center activities will be financed from the budget of Bulgarian Ministry of agriculture and food, international programs and projects, donations and grants. It will have a staff of three employees.
Centre creates an Advisory Board of 17 members nominated by the Minister of Agriculture of China and the relevant ministers of the CEE countries. Government and non- government, community and business organizations and companies from all over the initiative “16 + 1” with interests in agriculture and food will be invited for participation.
